I live IN a rock n roll music studio... original rock created in whole. He tried to rope me into back up singer, but I've only done a line or two in a couple of the songs. Besides all the other bands he helps produce, whose music sounds the same after a while, I still prefer to listen to our songs/videos. Now that they are on our Youtube (our only tv) we just set it to 'playlist' ... We tried going out and hearing a few of our old band friends still out performing and 4 hours of 50 songs yet they all have that same droning on sound, no thanks.

yeah, that would not work for me either.

i have a severe dislike of certain repetitive music (and a few styles overall) and will leave stores if they have it piped in and loud enough to be annoying.

as these are my personal preferences i'm quite ok if others have different ones (even if they're wrong, horrible, etc. :) ), but i sure don't want to be forced to listen to stuff that grates my taters and mixes them with ground glass and aluminum foil...

i love old complex progressive rock music, classical, blues, some jazz, etc. but it is very hard for me to find new bands that i enjoy as much. i try once in a while but i'm very picky.

as a whole most bluegrass, country and folk music doesn't work for me, a few songs here or there i do love and a few artists i do have songs from that i will listen to on a regular basis (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and others), but on the whole i just can't listen to commercial radio stations any more and we don't even listen to the Public Radio classical station that much any more either because they talk too much and inject commercials and that's not what I want from music listening.

with YT at least you can set up your own playlists, but what i am doing there more often now than anything is watching people discover my old favorites for the first time (hopefully they are being genuine - some clearly aren't).

I was having a difficult morning while running errands one day last week.

There was "When you are a Free Man" from "Seventh Sojourn." That album was issued at the time I had begun another sojourn in my life ...

@flowerbug , I played it while driving around –– it was most calming and helpful :).
