This is so sweet ... last night on The Late Show. Mavis is 86. She was with the Staple Singers years ago with her sisters and sometimes her father. (Change the volume just as she finishes the song. The crowd cheering nearly knocked me outta my chair :D.)

Too, too much running around this morning. The wind is absolutely terrible and I did have something of a walk with one business not having nearby parking. Still at it but this time for DW shopping — understood the need so it is okay. Hoping to have some rest this afternoon and maybe still have some scrap of imagination left.

The teevee had a brief blip about those young people in Generation "Alpha" who are now 1 day to 15 years old. I still don't know how we got to a generation as being only 15 years but ... okay ;).

Joni Mitchell had her birthday last week, the 82nd one :). She wrote the song. So here it is ... for Generation Alpha and us others!

This whole 'gen' language among the teenagers is interesting to me; as many times as my kids explain to me what each one is I just can't remember it. When DD and DS were first mentioning this 'gen alpha' thing I was like, is that a sports team?? I can't seem to even remember which gen I am. lol

well, erm, uh, it's quite possible for women to get pregnant very early, as was evidenced by me where i grew up as the girl on one side of us got preggers by the guy on the other side of us she was 14 he was 12.

my objection would be to the use of the word alpha...

It is about more than reproduction.

Really, a lot more. The Boomers are supposed (by some) to be from 1946 to 1964 but Generation X and by 1981 to 1996 with the Millennials, the definition was 15 years, so 18 years to 15. But, it is supposed to be a cultural thing with the factors of the events during their childhood and all sorts of this and that. I'm not sure if there is much science behind this, at all but with human culture, there has to be some imagination, etc. at play. Of course, there's also advertising and the economics always seems to rise to primary importance!
