looks like an amaryllis to me.

house plant only or taken from outside?

if it is an amaryllis it may not survive a cooler climate if planted outside but will do ok in the south (or other places that don't get too cold).

When I was in Australia ~ in the Rain Forest ~ I as Grandfather about a tree ~ I asked " What is that " it was beautiful ~ He looked it up and down, moved to one side to get, I thought, a better look, held his chin, than said: "That's a Tree"

Well, that's me story ```

I believe it's her house plant. I don't think it ever goes outside. :)

Clivia. I had one that happily lived in a flowerbed in zone 8.

I passed these two on, so hopefully it helps. :) She's an older lady who doesn't do internet, so I'll relay it if she has anything else to say.
