it looks like some kind of tropical house plant (in rather bad shape). may be elephant ear, but not entirely sure. hmm, elephant ear doesn't look like it gets that viney. the plant you've shown is fairly common... i'll keep looking as now that i've looked more i'd say it's not that, but some other tropical plant.
there's a lot of plants that look like this one. some kind of dumb cane or Dieffenbachia seguine is my best guess.
