I planted Zucchini, black, as well as Delicata, Sweet Potato according to the packet labels from grocoseeds.com.

What is this one? I'm getting zucchin from my two plants, but there are a dozen or more of this type of squash on two different vines. Reference size on this one: I'm a woman and I can barely hold it in both hands and make my fingers touch. Inside: soft, pale like a zuc, minimal seed development.

I have no idea, but I seem to have the same thing growing in MY garden. The seed company mixed something that wasn't a cuke, into my cuke seed packet. Question: Was it fuzzy when it was immature?

That certainly looks like an immature buttercup squash. Buttercup is a winter squash.

You can do a google image search and find quite a few pictures of immature buttercups that folks have growing in their gardens.

Perhaps the seed packet was mislabeled.

Okay, it is up against some pretty stiff competition from the Delicata and Sweet Potato squashes but you may like this one, Murphy.

Buttercup makes awfully good pie . . ;) !

I have only grown buttercup a couple of years but it has grown to be one of my favorite squash. Small seed pouch, so lots of meat for their size. I let mine get a touch of orange on them before harvesting. They aren't completely orange just some mottling.

Try them with a pat of butter, and a drizzle of honey..mmmmm

I have PUMPKINS in my squash patch that I did not plant and are not volunteer because we dont compost! They'er growing where my acorns should be, so I am pretty sure I got mixed up seed labels from the seed company too.

You may be the recipient of an unintended crossing, Sparkles.

Acorn squash is a Cucurbita pepo. That species also includes jack o-lantern pumpkins and summer squash.

These are all common garden plants and bees can carry pollen for long distances.

So, it may not be mislabled. The seed may have been genetically messed up and the fruit of those plants may not even be anything you will want to make use of.
