So Buckwheat is my latest thing. I've written an article on my blog about it nutritionally. I have a great recipe coming out Friday that I love, but I need MORE!

I would love to hear what all of you do with buckwheat? Has anyone grown and harvested it?

i know if you keep a pond the straw can be used to keep the green algae bloom in check during the spring or after heavy rains. but i'm sorry, i don't have much info about more uses.

I love buckwheat pancakes. Heck, if it weren't for having eaten those as a child I would have said Buckwheat is nothing more than the name of a little rascal.

Thank you. Thought I was only one who love them. It has to be Aunt Jemima's brand. They no longer make it. Wish I could find a knock recipe. One's I've tried are too much like paste and don't rise enough.

I have a bag of seed to use as a green manure crop. This will be my first time using it, I understand it needs to be turned under before it goes to seed.

I used to make buckwheat pancakes for dh ages ago. It's been a long time.

And that's all I know.

Sourdough buckwheat pancakes are kinda a big thing where i grew up in PA. My grandmother just made some when i was home visiting. I worked at a restaurant many years ago where we would mix the batter in one of those huuuge garbage cans!! So the sourdough had plenty of room to expand, and so we had enough for all the customers.

Righton brutha.

That would be great, except for when we're talking manure and compost.
