The veronica is up today.
Don't know why but this is one of the most attractive plants in my garden to pollinating insects.

at first those veronica look like mints, but once i see the name Speedwell i kinda shudder... :) they're popular plants and easy to care for around here. we have some blue/purple spikes around here or there. and then several of their weedy relatives too...

Heirloomgirl. The last photo is a Poppy budding. :)
Do you know the name of the plant in the 1st phot? It grows wild in the ditches around here. Hillsides are just white right now.

Yup, it's a poppy! DH guessed a thistle :)
That 1st & 2nd photo is 'White Wands' Veronica / Speedwell. I had to buy mine at a greenhouse! Reminds me of when my stepmum came from Newfoundland and was shocked that people actually planted irises in their flower gardens. Where she's from they just call them 'ditch flowers'. To them it's a bit like planting dandelions. 🤣

Really? I didn't know they had any weedy relatives? I have to water and care for some of mine, they die if they are on the small side and dry out!

Oh no! About my favorite flower

Your season is progressing just about the same as here - at the 48th parallel, 2,000' elevation :).

The blacks are still blooming but the earlier whites and magenta (?) are finished. Blacks receive more sun but run a little later and longer.

Next to the iris, are campanula. There is a bumblebee there but I waited too long and he is busy in one of the flowers.

Here is the very first of these annual poppies, even tho it is very much in the shade.
