I have found that the ritual of having a glass of iced coffee in the early afternoon is turning into a little pleasure that I look forward to. Oh, sure, I would rather have a Starbuck's Latte, but they cost 5 bucks, and are full of unknown substances. But I can save my leftover morning coffee, add whole raw milk and a little sugar and vanilla, and ice, and I get my little piece of "Ahh!" for the day. Cheap, just for me, and kinda special.
What is your current Little Pleasure?

Each day with DH is a pleasure/treasure to me. Sitting side by side watching the fire. Holding hands in the car. Feeling him beside me at night. Relaxing in the shade on the swing.

As I've mentioned before, I have simple needs and few wants. I could go shopping, to the movies, or visit with friends but quiet times with Clayton are my favorite little pleasures.

A cold beer! I love my get home from work & relax beer. I work 12 hour days, and get done either at 8:30 or 10 pm, my one beer helps me get ready for sleep time!

A cup of jasmine green tea with a red velvet cupcake. I'll make a batch of cupcakes and freeze them. It's really hard just to stick to one though!

Do we have to stick to just one?
Currently it's getting up at the crack of dawn and sitting in the picket garden with a hot cup of coffee. I like the quiet alone time when things are just beginning to stir.

I also like sharing late Sunday mornings in the garden with dh, a bottle of good cold ginger ale and a bowl of pistachios to crack, while we watch the hummers bombing around chasing each other.

The coffee is still a pleasure. I use it for motivation ... the neighbors are probably saying to each other, "here comes Steve again with that mug of coffee."

I'm sure it isn't too interesting to them but not everyone drinks hot coffee, midday, on a day heading to 100°.

I'm still on the wait 4 hours after rising before coffee routine. I also won't drink it after 4pm. I'm not having no coffee days lately. Motivation is too important ...

I still need to pick up some ginger candy ...

It seems to be helping the stomach.

I'm not having nearly the stomach trouble as in other years but finally decided to (partially) take the MDs' advice. One said "no caffeine," other said "all coffee, out."

Pleasures, ya know ... I get an "ain't fair" feeling just relating it. Still, I'm not happy about stomach pain and, coaxing my coffee drinking downstairs one step at a time is better than just tossing it out the window ...

;) Steve

A cup of really good tea after lunch. I have a bunch of teas to choose from, and use it as down-time while planning my afternoon.

During the school year, I bring my tea in a thermos. No matter how busy I am, I try to take at least 10 minutes sitting quietly with my tea. It helps me recharge.
