what's your winter time favorite.

@ninnymary With that venue, think a bunch of us are coming to visit. Love me some tamales with fresh salsa followed up with chocolate. Lining up air flights now....

I like home made chili, made with the tomato sauce I canned.

Hot chocolate, not the instant crap, but cocoa, milk, sugar and a touch of vanilla heated on the stove.

Beef or pork roast, pocketed with garlic cloves, topped with carrots, potatoes and onions.

Cornbread, made with corn I grew and milled.

Chicken mole' over rice.

Ok, I'll make a double batch of tamales this year!

Mary

double batch sounds good that will cover @Nyboy @seedcorn and myself best to make that a triple double batch to feed the rest...lets get one thing straight.... dibbs on the guest room.. :frow

all serious mary do you have a copy of your tamale recipe you can post....?????

It was cool enough yesterday that I thought it was a great day for chicken "pot pie" soup and home made biscuits.
Other winter time favorites are:
chili
white bean chicken chili
hamburger/veggie stew
slow cooker pork asada that we eat on baked potatoes or in a tortilla.

No recipe, it's all a guess work and even if I did, I wouldn't post it. :D

Sorry, have no guest room.

And by the way, I make my tamales and salsa using my grandmother's recipe. They're no good :D so I'm sure you won't like them. :p

I feel bad for teasing you. I apologize :)

Why do you have to live clear across country? I'll check into shipping but tamales are better eaten fresh. I would think there are people out there close to you who make them? Although the ones that people make to sell have only a little bit of meat and a lot of dough.
