I am wondering if you have to wait untill after the last frost to plant flowers that reseed themselves? If they can reseed, can't you plant them anytime during the spring and they will come up when it is safe?

Or do they need to go through the winter to become dormant so they don't come up too early?

I have quite a few wildflower/reseeding annual seeds, and I am wanting to plant them early but I don't want to chance killing them. Has anyone tried this? We have very erratic weather in the spring, it will be warm for a week and then freeze again. Wednesday and Thursday it was 70 here and yesterday it snowed all day.

I do believe some wildflowers require a certain amount of chill time to know when it is time to come up. I usually put those seeds in the fridge or freezer for a couple of weeks.

I think that is what you are asking?
