Will a CX rooster crow?

Yep. At about 7-8 weeks. I went into the coop this morning to let the layers out and feed/water everybody. I propped the outer door open and let in the morning light. As soon as I got into the layer side one of the CX roos let out a good crow. Scared the bejeepers out of both me and the layers! Good thing he's leaving for camp on Saturday.

The first crows from any rooster are quite hilarious. So strained-sounds like they are choking.

This was like two really loud long honks. It wsn't a perfect crow, but darn close! I'm used to them squawking and clucking and such. But when he went off unexpectedly, it scared the crap out of me and the hens. It was actually pretty funny.
