Bird Food Making Day :D

The outcome is satisfying, but I will make the hole in the center next batch.

Well, it's quite similar to making soy candles...
I used tallow, lard, and a bit of pumpkin seed oil this time.

Recycled yogurt cups

Fill the cups with the melted oil. I used chopsticks to ensure there would be a hole after it solidified again.

Thanks for thinking of the birds, im sure they enjoy you’re epicurean delights!

we go at it a little differently but they still get fed! When i butcher in the fall i set back rib and neck sections and they pick them clean over time.

i'll have a lot of old melon seeds to scatter on the snow/grassy spot where the cardinals like to pick through. if the bluejays are still around they'll likely want in on the action.
