So I was in the restroom of a local retailer while the guy was replenishing the paper towels. You know the ones; great big rolls that you pull out? I thought to myself, "Self (that's what I call myself is SELF) those would probably work really well for seed tape." so I asked the man, "What happens to the partial rolls after you take them out." His response astounded me, "Well, some of them we use for cleaning up spills and mirrors and glass and stuff like that, but mostly they get thrown away." So I asked if I could have a few. He said, Sure, follow me." He led me to the back of the store, said, "Wait here." and disappeared into the bowels of the back room. A minute later he came back with a whole big garbage bag full of them. I thanked him and brought my newest treasure home.

It's amazing what you can get for free if you just ask.

Way to go Self!! Just think what you could do with all that paper toweling. Besides the usual non-imaginative things you know...
Like in Jr. High, some kids would get gobs of it wet in the restroom and hurl it on to the ceiling, or you could practice spit wads
or if that's too immature you could perfect your origami.

I wouldn't say you're cheap. I'd say you are smart. Whenever we can re-purpose ANYTHING that is headed to the landfill we're doing our earth a favor.
