The recent storms in the last week passed us by to the north and south, even a deluge that hit DD's house 2 days ago, 12 miles north of us.
Yesterday, it poured on us twice, the first when I had gone outside to prune down trees in the north pasture and the 2nd at 5:30PM--watched from the kitchen windows--then it slowed down by the house but picked up pouring in the north pasture, EXACTLY where it needed the most rain.
Slight chance of rain today and tomorrow, better change on Monday.
Heat broke on Thursday night, but heat advisory still continued one county east of us.

Comes the rain today, finally!
DH and I mowed the north pasture yesterday. Day before I had chopped down saplings along the fenceline, and we transported them and the bigger limbs to the burn pile in the north pasture which took 2 hours.
I Don't care that the weather report said that the heat/humidity broke last Friday, it was Hot and Humid!
So, it took me a few hours inside in the AC to recover. When I went out again I was only going to chop down for about 30 minutes, but, my neighbor (who I really haven't known very well, despite the fact that that his family has lived here about 20 years,) asked me if I needed some help cutting.
ABSOLUTELY!
DH and I left for dinner with DD's, came back and he and his son and friends had taken down Almost every volunteer tree on the north pasture's north fence with their chainsaws, All of the trees from the corner south to the gate, and a few others AND they had chopped down the burdock along the fenceline with string trimmers!!!!!
:th:th:th:love:love:love
I went out earlier this afternoon, drove right along the north fenceline, stopping to uncurl any bindweed growing along the fenceline, tossing it in my tow wagon to dump in the burn pile, picked up the stray pieces between the fencing and the street, and finished mowing the freed up grass that had been under these volunteer trees, there and between the east fencing and the street.
There are only 2 trees left to move and SIL said he would saw them down on the 4th for me.
Rain is expected tonight, but by Tuesday I should be able to take my backpack sprayer and hit ALL of the fencelines that had volunteer trees and burdock and bindweed and other weeds to stop them from growing back while my left knee is healing.
I am about to make a double batch of brownies as a thank you for them.

You may think that I only know what humidity is like indoors in Winter, with a pot of soup cooking on the stove. With an official ⅛th of an inch of rain for the entire month of June, that would be understandable ;). But, my years spent working in a greenhouse and the many hours in a large cooler during other years, suggests that my naturally curly hair had that Snoopy experience more than once :D.

It was 95f (36C) yesterday afternoon. The merciful 59f (15C) yesterday at 5AM was not repeated this morning. The thermometer only dropped a single degree below 70f and that "f degree" wouldn't count on the centigrade scale (21⁰ to 21⁰C).

A little bit of cloud cover may mean that it won't be quite so hot today. There is a 20% chance of a thunderstorm but I won't be holding my breath about any of this and will still try to finish regularly scheduled outdoor work before noon.

They Said that the heat broke last Friday. They lied.
87 today, starting with 60% humidity, Still Hot, sweating profusely with every effort.
I cleared the bed for Eva's grave (below). Today I get to dig it out, then back into the AC.
