We had a sizable snowstorm two days ago, and I shoveled a network of paths yesterday. My snow plow guy cleared the driveway, but today we have snow squalls with a bit of accumulation.

I was going to go to the post office and also get a Christmas tree, but I've re-thought this. Tomorrow is predicted to be sunny and clear, so I'll go out then instead. Today is National Cookie Day! So I'm going to bake homestead cookies and maybe put up the little xmas villages and dig out the decorations for tomorrow's tree.

I don't really keep up a lot with the weather outside of the growing season, but this morning I got shocked by the cold. Yesterday it was -1C/30F in the daytime, this morning it was -33C with windchill factor/-27F. The look on my dogs face when I cracked the door for him to go out was priceless. 🤣

.

Or maybe the dog had a look of ..

.

My cats used to have a mixed response to bad weather. The female would brave it, without a look back. The tomcat would look up at me as tho he was saying, "Fix It !"

So far I have written all of my Christmas cards and made a few homemade gifts this year including 2 nautical rugs out of anchor line from our first sailboat, a ditty bag made from sail cloth that sinches up with brass grommets, and an apron with a cat print on it. The rest of the gifts will be store bought as I don't have enough time left to make more stuff!! Oh, and I have been listening to Christmas music while crafting! I still need to get my tree up and decorated.

thank goodness they forgive you or forget that you failed them. or do they?...
All past tense. The tomcat probably lived so much in the moment that he couldn't be troubled with holding a grudge. The female was a very independent "roommate."

How wonderful! Handmade gifts are the best. I had forgotten that you live only partially on dry land, and the other part onboard a boat!
