I figure the little mason bees would do it for you! They would wear mine out, sometimes 3 or 4 to a flower. I can't tell you how many times I brought a bouquet inside only to have a mason bee come buzzing out from deep inside the rolled petals. :bee Then it would only be a matter of letting them dry on the stalk and saving the seeds. I hear the larger ones don't make viable seeds as readily as the smaller dahlias do. Anyhow.... Gorgeous blooms. I loved all the pics!

Those are really beautiful! My Big-mart dahlias are doing better than expected this year, for my first time planting dahlias. I may have to make a dedicated space for them, and some more, of course, next year.
Speaking of RustyDHart, we haven't heard from him lately. Guess he's really busy with his business and sheep and dahlias and all?

The non-bully dark red. You can tell; it is September and I'm still taller than it is:

Highlights are good for the dark colors. Unfortunately, the white tips sometimes burn in the sun:

btw - if either of these are sideways . . . give the ghotobucket gnomes a little time and look again later ;).

Such beautiful blooms! Loved all the pictures. Steve that dark red one is my favorite. I love dark red flowers of most anything, but that dahlia is positively stunning with the white tips.

Thank you!

Here are some more:

these have a kind of personal meaning for me

a weak, little faded thing but i like to make room for it

so you don't think that i've only that one, fiery orange ;)

If they are not "upright" when you look at them, I guess they will be after the photobucket gnomes have finished their morning coffee, tomorrow.

After the frost, still protected in my backyard under a peach tree:

This one was stretched out on the ground.
