Yes NYboy, I hunt, so we eat wild dove ( in Cal. we have lots of Mourning dove ) quite often during hunting season . VERY tastey if prepared right... at your table, Ummm , not so much of a gourmet delight ??

Once friends from south America made me a birthday dinner. I never could figure out what the meat was and didn't want to ask. Never tasted anything like it.

Willn't be at my table, but I would try it if in restaurant or some ones home that knows what they doing.

Basically, if you've eaten squab, you've tasted dove....same family of birds, but you folks call them pigeons(rock doves). Lots of ritzier restaurants serve squab but they don't tell folks they are just eating pigeons.
