It is good that you're going through everything well. We once cleaned and rehabbed an apartment where money was hidden everywhere. In all we found $60,000. Most of it in un-cashed SS checks, but thousands in cash as well. We gave it all to the property owner who said he'd try to contact the man's relatives -- none lived close-by.

So sorry you have to go threw that Baymule! I know it's not easy to do. I hope I never have to make that choice, but I'm sure in years to come I wont have much choice either. My mom tells me the same things over and over now, and she's only 64. My mom aunt, and uncles had to make that choice last year for my grandmother. She has alzhiemers pretty bad. She doesnt even remember me.... let alone my kids.

Thanks Dew. The stroke my mom had just robbed her of her life. At 89, she drove, sent out a newsletter on the computer to her school chums, and traded stocks online. Our family members generally live into out 80's and 90's with a few into 100's and remain clear in our minds. After her stroke, Mom couldn't even turn on her computer. I would turn it on for her and she would get it so snarled up, clicking on every pop up ad, "because it said click here!" We moved her stock accounts to a local stockbroker so we have a face-to-face person to deal with. She is clear most days, but she is slowly slipping. That just sucks for my Mom.
