you may be surprised by the mum once it warms up a bit.
Yes, I did.
All the mums growing outdoors are sending tons of new shoots now. I had two overwintered in the greenhouse - the main stem died back, but the new shoots are coming out. I removed tee main stems and will transplant them later in the hoop tunnel.

Most of the seedlings sowed on Jan-28 have true leaves now, especially the first two batches that I pricked out.

They are embracing the light and enjoy it.

Such a setting - the seedlings will have sufficient light and stay robust. When the light is too far away, they will still get leggy.

Another 60 cells done today - three different lettuces and some microgreens (rocket and purple cabbages)

Seedlings from the microgreens, not bad at all - let's see how they will turn into.

Hydroponic lettuces (with roots) from Lidl 3Euro bags - I harvested the big leaves, divided them, and transplanted them into individual pots. It takes them a while to adapt, but now, they are growing again.

The greenhouse space will become crowded in another month, and it's time for hardy plants to move out.
The miniature roses I rescued and divided are doing so well - many new leaves are growing.

Bleeding hearts come back, too - their 3rd spring!

Baking and baking!

An European-style bread - the starter made with two different types of rye flour, main dough made with normal bread flour and whole-wheat flour

I added cheddar cheese, roasted diced potato, and sliced dried tomato - the flavor is charming.

It's not that warm, but I missed iced Latte!

Those mosses look quite pretty. You find beauty in the things around you and use them to create art.

That sweet little quail, she sure looks happy in the greenhouse.
She enjoyed some microgreens and playing in the greenhouse when I pricked out my seedlings.

Finally, it's again time for me to spend hours in the garden, satisfied!

On Dec-23rd, 2023, I paid less than 1 Euro and brought back a potted miniature rose from a discounter. It passed the prime time and was removed to the heavy discounted shelf.

In fact, there were four rooted rose stems in one pot - so I divided, pruned, and repotted them into individual pots. They stayed in the greenhouse till yesterday.

They looked so healthy, so I decided to transplant them to the garden.

Just about two-month time, oh my, look at their roots! The roots are totally different from the days they were squeezed in a tiny pot and sitting on the discounter shelf. The current roots told me - we are more than ready, send us to the soil!

Another rose propagated from a cutting and a new mint propagated from the runner are also ready. I transplanted five roses and the mint (in a bigger pot) today.
16552.jpg

I also made a new raised bed and transplanted the forest strawberries divided from one huge clump, a few strawberry plants, and lettuces (with roots) from Lidl veggie bags.
