I apologize for not posting tomato pics, we've been too busy eating them! Over on the Heritage tomato thread, @Ridgerunner suggested that I would probably be the first to post pics of ripe tomatoes, since I am in a hotter climate, except maybe California or Florida. @ninnymary said she didn't have ripe tomatoes. We have been eating them for a couple of weeks. Oh, and :plbb to @seedcorn !!!

I read what Ridgerunner said and told my husband, I gotta go take pictures of the tomatoes. He jumped up and took over the artful arrangement, grouping them by variety and making a beautiful display for you tomato starved gardeners!

From left to right is Yellow Pear, Homestead, with my first San Marzano artfully leaned upon the kitchen window by my DH, and on the right is 4 Tommy Toes that escaped being eaten today, only because I had more of them for our salad.

Is this for real? Bay, I didn't expect ripe tomatoes even from you yet and you have so many!

Mary

Yes the picture is for real. I started all my tomatoes from seed this year in the house on the breakfast table under fluorescent lights. I picked 4 more Homestead tomatoes this morning and 2 more San Marzano. There is another handful of Yellow Pear on the vines and 1 Tommy Toe is ripe, will tell DH so he can go pick it and eat it off the vine. I have 2 Gypsy ripening, can't wait to taste those!

Hats off to your husband for his eye for art !!

Thank you! He does have an eye for beauty--after all--he married ME!

Too cool! I'm digging the Tommy Toes. Are they a keeper?

Yes! My husband had memories of eating Tommy Toes out of his father's garden when he was a boy. Just to watch the expression of joy on his face is enough for me. Plus they are a little bigger than cherry tomatoes, have clusters of 4-6 and were the first tomatoes to ripen!
