Oh wow, not even one day passes after my message passed Moderation and an offer of aid was made. What an awesome community :)

Thanks for the warm welcome Thistlebloom and Baymule.

The reason I'm looking for such an early corn is that I I live in Western Washington with mild winters but also mild summers, and I'm looking to attempt a Fukuoka-style double grain rotation. [Winter Grain followed by summer grain] and its going to take a really early corn to pull that off in my climate. [There doesn't seem to be much breeding work done on making say... Winter Rye or Winter Barley or Winter Wheat ripen earlier into the early summer/ into late spring.]

When Sandhill Preservation Center carries Super Early Alberta again I intend to trial that one as well.

I can't make any promises on the pictures. I'm not really one for digital photography :p

No issues with reporting results though ^_^

Hi Kyrt! Welcome to TEG! I didn't get anything from my planting last year, but I might have a bit of seed left from a few years ago. I'll have to go dig around in my seed vault....I mean cardboard box :D where I shoved it all when i was seed starting. PM me and we can figure it out.

Hello ,

My grandmother was mikmak from Gesgapegiag ''Gaspésie in French'' ''Gaspe in English'' so I'm interested by all native american heritage seeds :)

The history of Gaspe Flint maize: Jacques Cartier observed fields of it in 1534 (Gaspe, QC,CA) and it was and still is one of the earliest maturing corns, ripening in just 45-60 days. The plants are short, growing to about 2 ½ feet tall and the cobs barely reach 4" long. I was surprised how quickly it ripened for me this year and it certainly is worth growing in short season climates. The dried kernels can be soaked and then used in soups and stews. I am very happy to be able to preserve and offer this rare historic corn to my customers.(45-60 days maturity)

That's so great Matthieu! Thanks for joining the forum and making your seeds available. I gave the last bit of mine away this spring and I know many folks have had a real problem locating it. What a wonderful surprise!
