I wasn't clear, sorry. Iced tea can be sweet or un-sweet. But you have to specifically and very clearly ask for un-sweet or you will get sweet tea. If you just order 'tea' it WILL be sweet & iced - that's just understood.
In some places, you can order 'hot tea' which will get you a coffee mug of hot water, a dry tea bag, and (of course) sugar.
Once, I asked for hot tea and it came with all of the above plus a glass of ice. I guess they thought I just wanted to make my own sweet (iced) tea????
Well yea, BUT it's NOT the same ... it differs in the "twist of the wrist " of the artist that makes the drink or foodstuff. Think of it as the difference between a food preparer and a chef ! Or as one of your cutomers giving a dog a bath compared to you preparing a dog for a major show.
