Any Tricks For Stripped Screw Head?

Pound a pry bar between hinge and wood the heads will break of or screw will pull out . I know that seems drastic but it is effective, it is usually my first move lol. I do not like waiting around just get a bigger hammer.

Sawsall, baby! I don't mess with such things...just cut or grind them off and pull that sucker with the claw hammer.

Did not get a chance to work on it last night. 2 screws and I am hoping not to damage the hinge

Cut the post off at ground level, then place an add in Craig's list for " antique hinge " for sale already mounted on post, U- PULL !

I have no patience for those things. A bigger hammer or sawsall for me.

I picked up a bit set for just this purpose, will try it tonight

OMG it was so easy I was shocked. You drill with one end of bit then use other end to unscrew screw. Gate will get a fresh coat of paint this weekend.
