Carol what is your favorite color ?
Good question! I bounce back and forth with Turquoise, Coral, vivid pinks etc... not suitable for shutters/ I was thinking more of a brown/grey shade that will look good with the new shingles. (Weathered Wood.)

Some people like bright, some like more subdued colors. When you change that green do as you like. Matching or complimenting the shingles makes sense.

The reason I'm posting this is to commend you for doing something good and smart. You have your house number where it can be seen. Not only is that a nice thing to do for delivery people or others trying to find you, it can make a lot of difference if you or someone else needs to call emergency response people like fire, police, or ambulances/first responders. They instantly know they are in the right or wrong place. Having your house number where it can be seen can easily save a life and you might not even know about it if it kept them form wasting time on the wrong house.

Yep @Ridgerunner we have always had house number as visible as possible. I live within one block of fire station and corner of 1st and Main so we should be easy to find, but you would be surprised at how often deliveries are left at the house on EAST Main and a completely different house number! Son is the Fire Chief of the Long Grove Volunteer Fire Dept. :) (Call me a proud Momma) The other Volunteers all call me Mom or Grandma (They are SO YOUNG!)
See how close! Took photo of basket Sis gave me and you can see Fire Station in upper right of photo.

Using zoom I can check on them from my porch !!! LOL
Son is left of the post.

Nothing historic about any place in Long Grove, LOL Even though we live in one of the oldest homes. Over the years it has been drastically changed. :( Why not use a favorite BRIGHT color? Because I am MARRIED to the reason it would have to be a drab color. (Mr. Houses are white, barns are red.) LOL even thoogh he would allow me pretty much free reign with colors I am sure he'd put his foot down at coral, pink, lime and turquoise! ;)

I wanted the front door to really stand out. I wanted something different and decided on bright shade of orange . My painter painted both front and side door with the fabulous orange color I picked out. When I saw new paint job:ep all I could think of was taco bell. I ended up with a safe red.
