Couldn’t see the lunar eclipse at 3 am this morning due to the cloud cover. Lots of pic to see on line .

Woke up at 3:42 this morning to go to the bathroom and it was all cloudy so couldn't see the moon.
63* today and Saturday it's going to be 71* and Sunday 73*. Perfect beautiful day.

Im pretty much a stick in the mud, never putting any effort into eclipses, Northern Lights etc.
They got coffee table books for that! We have a photograph of the Kennicott mine out of Chitna Alaska, taken in the middle of the night showing a fabulous Northern Lights display. The Photographer told us he spent several weeks camped out in preparation for that one picture!
We showed our appreciation by buying one of the framed pictures, and never lost any sleep. I greatly admire others enthusiasm for something like this; i’m just too lazy or probably tired from working all day to want to expend the energy.
And i can look at this one anytime i like, look close; the reason he had to stay so long was to get the Lights, the Big Dipper and the North star; all at the same time! And this was before Photo shop or AI.

Meteorologists record "Winter" as December 1 through February in this part of the world. The University of North Carolina has used averages to rank US weather stations. You can fill the screen and then stretch the map with 2 fingers to enlarge an area. Apparently, I live in an area where the stations were 1st to 4th in the warmest ever!

had the full moon to the direct west of me this morning when the sun was coming up. clear sky and sunny and the cardinal is out there singing up a storm (ok, not a storm but definitely making a lot of sound

Caught the eclipse yesterday morning. Was up at 3:33 on 3/3/ 2026 that’s a lot of threes…,and caught a snap between the trees and clouds.

This morning I woke up to gray skies and rain. We are supposed to get dumped on for the next few days and then it turns super cold Monday n Tuesday! Looks like a great day for computer work!

That is something like our forecast, @Dahlia , except I doubt if "dumped on" would be an accurate description for the rain.
Our rainy day this week did give us a half inch, nearly. I checked the nearest Snotel and there had been a full inch of rain and it rained a couple of more hours. That was at 4700 feet. Down here it was continual through the day but never heavy.
Looking around at several Snotel stations was somewhat encouraging. Higher, along the continental divide, the stations were closer to seasonal normal normals. British Columbia Rockies looked good!

Yesterday was sunny and beautiful so we spent the day outside!
