Our dining room, kitchen, and living room are all under a continuous vaulted ceiling and are the open concept, so the kitchen has one tall wall 12' 5" tall at the peak with a range with 2 upper and 2 lower cabinets inset in an alcove, and the other wall has a bank of uper and lower cabinets with a refrigerator on a 7 1/2' tall wall with 3 ft. open on top. so very little wall area . I used 2 coats of self priming semi-gloss paint. To make it more interesting, I used 2 x 6 s on the wall corners from floor to ceiling to simulate wooden 6 x 8 post timbers and 1 x 4" boards ( all bull nosed ) around 2 doors leading to the laundry room and garage. My wife chose a light grey as their color, so I baught Sherwin-Williams semi gloss paint from their outlet store. I put on 3 coats on them with a day's drying time in between . After all was said and done... the dry color was blue,

Then after 3 months, this paint is slowly oxidising to a light grey color.

Also, on the back side of that 7 1/2' tall wall between the kitchen and dining room, I coverd that wall with the naturally colored aged grey fence boards ( used from our old back yard fence ) then used rough cut 2" x 6" s as a frame on top, bottom, one side and around the end corner as a 6 x 8" corner post. For these 2 x 6 boards, I used a grey stain. Well, after the stain dried ... you guesed it ... the color is blue.

I will wait a few more months to see it it turns into a grey or if not, I will have to paint it with the rest of the Sherwin Williams paint or with something else.
