We moved 3 years ago to 8 acres just north of Tyler, Tx from Livingston, Tx. In Livingston, which is 75 miles north of Houston, I grew a vegetable garden all year long. At our new place, which is 170 miles further north, my futile attempts at a winter garden froze. But right now a low tonight of 14F is predicted and the low of 18F last night didn't kill the collard greens, so maybe there is hope yet.

I underestimated the drop in temperature, so I'll have to start my seedlings over again and hopefully get 2 harvests by summer, possibly 3 by fall.
