I love Redbuds. My sis brought me one of her seedlings from Missouri and it grew well, but we had two very cold winters back to back and it succumbed.

Also love redbuds have a purple weeping redbud I found at home depot of all places

I'm posting pics of my vegetable garden in spite of my ego.
Notice how the corns height get shorter as it goes left? I think that's because the maple trees are sucking everything up and shading them earlier than the ones on the right.

What you see from the road. All of these perennials were out of a friends garden who was downsizing and simplifying her beds.
I just sort of picked out holes (with a pick) in that terrible soil last fall, crammed the plants in (that had been sitting on a tarp for two weeks waiting for me...
watered and dumped a bunch of old horse manure over it all. This spring everything came back. Yes, I was surprised too!
This is the third year for that hops vine taking over the fence.
The hops are starting to hop.

@ninnymary is a tough adopted southern girl. She won’t faint at the sight of a weed——or maybe she would as southerners are a gentile bunch-except for @baymule who names them, then processes them.

I ditched work yesterday and spent the entire day working at home. My beds are not where I'd like them to be, but I got a lot of stuffed trimmed back and dead headed. I have mint in the shade bed and it was waist high and blooming! Way past time for some maintenance.
I hitched the old trailer to Janie and filled it up with trimmings from mostly the shade bed. This was about halfway done.
My brain feels much better now that some of the beds are half tamed.
I like this color combo.
One of my favorite clems. Sweet Summer Love. Finally got control of the grasshoppers that usually defoliate it.

@thistlebloom your yard is gorgeous.....sez the Baymule thinking about her sand lot speckled with weeds.....and glad to the have the weeds so at least SOMETHING is growing.....
