some kind of hopper?

Can anyone identify this? It LOOKS like some kind of grasshopper. There are a BUNCH of them living in my rose of sharrons and I've seen them dragging Japanese beetles down a branch - assuming, to eat them?

Thanks. It's one of @Nyboy 's 'grand-shrubs'. :D I think they're lovely and the blooms are HUGE.

Hey Alex - are yours all purple? Because 2 of the sprouts from the babies (that all bloom purple) are blooming WHITE. :ya

My grand mom had a small city lot, she was very frugal anything growing had to have a use. I thought it out of character for her to have a shrub that was just deceptive. Then I come upon a website listing all the uses for rose of sharon. Unfortunate I did not bookmark and can not find again
