so now we have fans going everywhere. the insurance company opens at 8 so we are waiting till then.

been wanting to change out the water heater guess this will be a good time to do it....

Oh no, what a mess! Hope it didn't cause too much damage or troubles.

Hopefully you got it in time to prevent major damage, good thing your wife caught it. A flooded house is no fun. Hopefully it did not get high enough to damage sheet rock and other stuff like that. There are companies that deal with that, they have big fans. We had a pipe in a bathroom that did something like that. Ours could have been a lot worse.

Had a water heater do that once but it was in the garage with a lower concrete floor. Water flowed out under the garage door. The fix was leave the garage door open to let it dry out and replace the water heater. Sure hope yours is close to that simple.

Oh that's awful! So sorry about that mess. :hugs

This would probably be a good time to show your wife how to turn the water and any other utilities that could be calamitous off. Fortunately it broke when you were both home and it got caught early.

Hope you don't have too much trouble with all the repairs.

ick! Dad's basement at his place on the lake used to flood once in a while.
always a mess.

if anything have her turn off the breaker panel so that should turn off the well pump and keep the hot water heater from frying if it goes dry. also to prevent electrocution...
