Made my sourdough starter from scratch. First loaf, a little gummy but so delicious!

That looks so good! Congratulations Mary!

I've made sourdough, but have never made my own wild starter from scratch. That's quite an accomplishment.

Grrrrrr..... I’m told your area has the correct environment for that type of bread. Sure looks good.

Those that have diabetes 2, should make their own bread so they can control starch, sugar & fiber. When you venture out with different breads, be sure to share recipes you like. Feel free to keep the dud recipes to yourself.

 My goal is to eventually make a bread that my celiac daughter can eat. I know there are gluten free sourdough recipes out there. But I want to eventually venture into ancient grains which I hear celiac people can digest. They can go to europe and eat the bread over there with no ill effects because their flours and their processing is different than ours.

I hear you. Good luck. I’m told with our winter wheats, they have grasses bred into them that cause the problems.

I make a oatmeal/whole wheat that doesn’t make my blood sugar spike. I have very odd looking loaves though. Feel free to share the recipes you like...
