The Moose!

A week ago we had a big bull in the woods. We don't see adult males very often. He was only wearing one antler, he had shed the other somewhere. We hope it was on our land!
He was huge and fat and glossy. We haven't seen him since then and neither have the neighbors, so he's somewhat elusive.

Sorry for the terrible image, if you look really close you can see his one antler. I really need a real camera.

WOW , I hope you find his shed palm (Maybe both of them!)
 
Kid#1 stayed over last night and at first light he was starting his truck to leave and saw a bull moose eating the apples out front. The bull took off as soon as the truck started so I didn't get to see him, but my neighbor sent me a text picture of the bull, a cow and calf pruning her apple trees. I told her to keep her moose in her own yard for a change, haha.

:yuckyuck Only way she can do that would be a VERY BIG fence.

Larka's sire (BMD) is named Moose, and he's enormous also. Looks like Dakota's going to be a biggie!

Thistle... you may be aware that quite a few feral horses carry Draft Horse genes. In the 1960's when I started to work for UCD Veterinary Medicine Dept. ... we got a shipment of 39 mustang mares from a very wild range in N. Montana for a PhD. research project. 2 of the mares were older draft mares, 1 mare was a QHorse with ranch brand on her hip. several of the other mares had definate draft blood among other breed genetics.

Yes, I have a friend whose mustang has obvious draft genetics.
But I was talking about my Bernese Mountain dog Larka. Her dad is a huge dog, he's the size and has the bone of a St. Bernard. Fortunately Larka is pretty average at 106 lbs.
