You shouldn't grow anything with gingers, because they need all the space they can get to spread and make as many rhizomes as possible. Anything else taking up root space and nutrients would be detrimental. They can fill a pot pretty quickly in a year's time. Kodi Lucky Patcher nox

I now mix Olive Oil, Black Pepper and Turmeric into a thick paste ~ put it in the fridge and scoop some into my mouth and wash it down with a drink ~ sometimes I spread it on bread and drink coffee as I eat the bread ```

i'd hate to think of what that would do to my body. i love black pepper but it hates me. it hates Mom even more (it will raise blisters on her lips and in mouth). is it supposed to help you for some condition or are you that much after the flavor?

i can eat red pepper (chili peppers and green pepper and such) without any problems so i use hot sauce to get my capsaicin fix. i have enough tolerance for it now that sriracha sauce gives me some heat, but not too much. at first i could only use a few drops but now i can drench a boiled egg with it and nomnom that right down. pickled eggs are pretty good too.

Mom is on a new fad of taking cayenne pepper powder capsules but she doesn't get the heat except at the other end. she's not commented on it yet, but she takes it with yogurt to cut it in her stomach. supposed to help with all sorts of things.

We're trying to incorporate more turmeric into our cooking and we also like the golden turmeric milk. I grew some this year which @hoodat gave me in two 6 gallon pots. It was very easy to grow. I'll be digging it up here soon. It got really tall, so I'm hoping it did well.
a very potent antioxidant and they say it also helps improve symptoms of depression and arthritis. I personally use it as a rub for my arthritis though.

I used to have a turmeric, honey, and black pepper tea base that I would drink religiously in the winter to clear my sinuses when I got sniffly. Mixed it all together in a little jar, and would add a spoon of it to a cup of hot water a few times a day with a squeeze of lemon. I'm not sure it actually did anything health wise, but it sure was tasty.

Rhodie, I started a ginger root I bought at the store that had a pair of living buds on it way back in late october. It finally broke the surface of the soil Christmas week, and now it is starting to get leaves. Don't give up on yours!
