reminds me of a place up north, it was an old railroad yard along the waterfront with a large rotted dock that had many pilings. none of it was being used any more, the railroad tracks were mostly removed by the time i came along. i liked to walk along there though.

eventually it was renovated and they put a hotel on the water and planted a nice green lush lawn. one which attracted the very hungry herbivores that the geese could be... very smelly nice lawn with many green plugs of semi-digested goose poo. very welcoming to visitors. i suspect they must have figured something out, but i've not been back much to find out. :)

Still doing very little in the garden itself :hit
However, the mean calf is gone and the rewards are in.

The temporary paddock built to contain her is down. Eva is back to being her regular happy self (she didn't like that calf either) and my afternoon chore load is cut by more than half!!! I'm making butter and paneer and mozzarella again too.
And got a little bit of the raking done - which made the chickens very happy.

Really surprised at the fat. She marbled up well. Good job.

It is a new season. What did you do in the garden today, yesterday, last week :)?

Two backyard beds have been covered with the temporary hoop house. Seed for Asian greens and escarole has been sown; bok choy transplants have gone in. The flower beds around the house have been cleaned up.

I have now begun in the little veggie garden by leveling a few beds cultivated last year, fertilizing, and planting some seed potatoes, onion sets and pea seed.

What did you do in your gardens :)?

Steve
