Hi everybody! I'm Sonya. I am a mother of 3, grandmother of 1. We have been gardening for over 10 years. Or trying to anyway...lol We were growing in a greenhouse until Hurricane Florence hit us and took everything away. We are still living in an RV, in fact, a year and a half later. Yep. Long story. But in the meantime, we just acquired a used greenhouse a couple weekends ago and as soon as my husband recovers from having his kidney removed, we plan to set it back up. We have several seeds started in pots for now. I want to totally grow in containers or raised beds in the greenhouse for the most part. I had raised beds in the yard but we are still removing hurricane debris and lots of weeds have grown in totally beautiful soil. I had used the Mel Mix for doing square foot gardening. So I need to get out there and clear it again. I hate to dig holes just to pull that dirt out and put it back into boxes again. I may just make rows where it is and plant. We'll see. Also exciting for us is the fact that we just bought 11 beautiful Golden Comet chickens! (Yes chicken math is a real thing) lol Currently they are only 1 week old, so we have some time to get used to them and the kids will not be afraid of handling them. So I am here to learn and share everything on gardening, using a greenhouse and composting with chicken bedding, etc.
