What do you have under lights, in that sunny South Window or in the greenhouse?

I'm very pleased that it is a sunny morning. This wasn't how it was supposed to be! (I think @so lucky and @dickiebird may have some major storms today [!] ... why doesn't TEG have some regular members from Kansas?)

May have no need for the shed-attached hoop house in Narnia this year but things are growing in the unheated greenhouse!

Nothing under lights yet, other than some of DW's house plant overflow (and her over-wintering Calamansi orange/limes in the basement). The house plant overflow is mostly starts to be given away, hopefully gone before seed starting begins in earnest. I'll be starting some onions in a few days, but my main transplant seed starting begins about April 1st.

It looks like @Niele da Kine might be getting some wet weather too.

I have a jungle in the house right now. I decided to plant extra seeds for a plant sale and my "just one more seedling" mentality took full charge and now I'm over run with seedlings. All the up potting is done so that's good but now I have to spend several minutes each day taking the plants out and back in each day. I have plants everywhere in my house. My poor husband and kids lol.

You had me at "just one more". That seems to be a pretty common affliction on this forum. Maybe it's infectious (one can only hope).

Good Morning World!

Try as they might, these bell pepper seedlings don't look very Colossal.

I started garlic inside last month. Hasn't done well, was store bought, so...meh...but I am transplanting it outside today.
Good luck, boys.
I have kept a sweet potato, the actual vine FROM the potato, NOT the vining plant you buy at box stores, Alive, all winter, in my basement, under gro lights and on top of a heat mat.
I cannot seem to start them, but my DD has started two...by accident.
This is NOT going out until June.
I took a master gardener's advice.
HE said to save gallon milk jugs (cleaned out, of course, with bleach), cut in two, put in potting soil and water, plant cool weather vegetables the right depth, tape the top back on and put outside to sprout.
I actually HAVEN't used the milk jugs (also, distilled water gallon jugs) yet. I have been using trash, like plastic containers that housed lunchmeat, an empty Hershey dry chocolate container, a 2 inch deep aluminum baking dish, etc.
I did the above, put the lids, sometimes red lids, on top and housed the others in gallon and 2 gallon labelled ziplock bags.
I have been filling my window wells with them bc, like often, today we expect 50 mph wind gusts.
The master gardener suggested leaving them for a few weeks before checking.
I have planted:
Garden Peas
Sugar Snap Peas
Sweet Peas (You should know that these are flowers)
Leeks
AND
I am using my 10 gallon (leaky) fish tank on the east facing glassed in porch, too.
I started OLD beefsteak and Roma tomatoes in it. Right now the glass lid, recycled from a truck topper, oversized, but covers, is off bc of the high's in the 60's which would bake my seeds.
Temperatures are dropping this weekend, lows below 32 degrees at night.
My tomatoes have been bagged, as I discussed above, so they won't dry out, and will retain heat.
I am sure I will be checking in a week to see their progress.
I STILL have lots of refridgerator and shelving space for other crops left.

Top of your fridge is often overlooked as a place to start seeds. I cleaned mine off over a year ago and I have a gro light with supports on top of it now, plugged into a timer.
I have a 4 tier, metal woven shelving unit in the basement, set up with heat mats and 4 gro lights.
I have had to be creative, bc if a window space is available and my 3 kittens (3yo, and raised them from 3 weeks old) get near they will dig out the dirt.

That top of fridge with a grow light really, really sounds good to me, @ducks4you .

The "giant" seedlings on the other side of the "Colossal" are Jolene. I wasn't ordering from somewhere that had Giant Marconi this year but have a hope that this makes an okay substitute.

Jolene is supposed to be a Corno di Toro type but I have read that all "Caribbean" sweets are close relatives of Mediterranean sweets. Besides, the most productive pepper that I have ever grown was Corno di Toro. I wasn't happy with its thin wall and tough skin. Another Caribbean was Biscayne - super nice sweet but DW didn't think much of it. (Color preference, I just bet!)

With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you
Jolene
He talks about you in his sleep
... Jolene
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
