Today has been really pleasant. Windy but the sky has been blue and the sun was out. We've had a little faint rain but not much to mention.

The weather system for much of the central U.S. seems to have stalled, changing only slowly. The nearly stationary cold front finally moved through, but we will have nighttime temps in low 40's / upper 30's for the next 10 days. Frost advisories tonight for areas just North & West of me. :( This prolonged cold will delay potting up my tomatoes, since I don't have enough room for them indoors & I can't heat the greenhouse until we get about 10 degrees warmer.

I really wish I had not said about our descent day. My poor old dog and me just got pelted with a very heavy hailstorm, it actually hurt us, since we got in the sun is shining again and the sky is clear :duc
My friend in another part of our country had a similar experience, sunny windy then a sudden surge of hail, he described the hail as golf balls hitting his head :idunno

Well we have already had 2 or 3 inches today, so why not some more?

Oh lets make it 3.5" for an official frog strangler.

Yay hillrows!

We now have a wading pool too.

And my neighbor has a sunken garden.

Edit:So I went out this morning and yesterday's rain gave us 6" in the Garden gauge that only goes to 5.5". The water was well up into the green cap, and the local airport was reporting 6". Local news has video of surfboards and or surfers being pulled behind big 4x4 trucks through city streets.

That’s crazy I’m glad you two seem okay.
We had another couple of spurts of rain and hailgates this morning and of course I was out in it again. There must be a nasty little man in the clouds watching for me when I go out. My friend told me he had ice on his car this morning.

At 4pm there was a nasty black cloud when we were walking the dogs, we prayed the hail wouldn't come again, they really hurt.

My dog was was whimpering all the way back yesterday, we hate that nasty man laughing at us from the sky :duc:th

The hail stories of late have really caught my attention. I cannot remember the likes of them.
