These cast iron baking pans should work for @seedcorn 's black bean brownie recipe, right?

Love it. Will have to go & find some cast iron. Think wife has non cast iron. Now that I’ve learned how to season cast iron, I’m a cast iron junkie... have a ham bone frozen waiting for first cold week to make beans/ham.

This idea has interested me since learning that the cornbread recipe used for years is for corn "sticks." Never used it for sticks but this would be the pan for them.

Remembered this thread for cornbread and Jeni Ann's recipe:

We are big cornbread eaters! My recipe:
1 C Flour 1/2 tsp salt
1 C cornmeal 1 C milk
1/4 C sugar 1/4 C oil
2 tsp baking Powder 2 egg Whites, lightly beaten
Preheat oven to 400
Pour the oil into a 8" cast iron skillet, place the skillet into the oven,
Mix all dry ingredients in a med bowl,
Add milk and egg whites,
Stir, just to mix,
Pour hot oil from the skillet into the mixture and stir again.
Pour mix back into the skillet and bake for 20 -25 mins.

Steve, did you ever make it? I like cornbread I wonder if you can use the whole egg instead of just the egg whites? I don't like wasting the yolk.

"Amazing" except I'm not sure that their looks might need improving with powdered sugar.

@ninnymary , I did use Jeni Ann's recipe. If you click the tread, you will see me struggling to find a recipe (& changing things once I found them).

It was a common thing for me to add all the dry ingredients in a metal bowl, set the eggs in the middle of them, then head off to Mom and Dad's with Sunday dinner. They always had the milk in their fridge.

Thirty plus years ago, I was commonly a buttermilk drinker. DW thought that was crazy. These days, I don't even know if it's still at the soopermarket.
