For someone that has given me the impression of being a very serious person you make me laugh so much

😆🤣

almost everything i write there is some element of tongue-in-cheek about it even if it might appear to be serious. i have no qualms at all about poking fun at myself even when i'm being a sanctimonious a$$. :) we laugh here quite often. i am serious, but i'm also serious about having fun and not letting some things get me down that seem to really bug others. to me it's like *shrug* nobody gets out of this alive so i'm going to try to find some fun or interesting stuff in what is going on. a choice of perspective and perhaps a bit too frivolous or insane for some but that's just me. i'm glad that Mom and i do find things to laugh about, every day we can usually get some good cracks in. :)

When DD was pregnant with Evelyn, her husband worked as a butcher in a grocery store. She had a dream that she had her baby and it was a piece of meat and she named the baby CHUCK like in CHUCK ROAST LOLLLLLLLLL and she told her husband the baby was born too early and not done and needed to COOK MORE so put the piece of meat in the oven to get done and she woke up. LOLLLL

that is so funny about the broccoli. :) that may change as she gets older and really starts craving calories. does she like peanut butter?

my own dreams recently did involve tornadoes (coming right at the house) and people i've not thought of in years. we weren't doing anything much that i recall now but i've not seen some of them in over 20 years or even closer to 30 in some cases. i think it just the mind's way of refreshing memories and getting rid of the clutter of a day that didn't ever seem important enough.
Eh, let me give it a try. I've tried giving her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but she doesn't like bread unless it's a homemade sourdough or perhaps a nice rye. I don't think I've tried peanut butter on its own though.

:clap Then you are my kind of people

Life's been made so tedious and can be exhausting because of the loopholes made for us, thank goodness for humour, that keeps me going

Edited to add

I've recently came across a friend I haven't seen in decades. We were close since tiny children.
We always could turn to each other and share our worries trusting each other with our deepest secrets.

I haven't seen her yet but we've spoken and sent texts too each other

Here you have to sometimes be careful with your words and who you joke with but it's strange because even after decades I still feel I can joke with her. I hope when we finally meet again it feels the same :)

HAHAHAHA.

l see why you might ask that, but if you met my daughter you'd laugh too. My daughter pretty much only likes vegetables, fruit, the occasional lean meat, and rice. I have pictures of her looting my grocery bags and making off with an entire head of broccoli to deliciously consume.

If you serve something most ordinary children would LOVE for lunch (re: junk) she'll look at it in horror, shuffle over to the fridge, and fish out a carrot.

We're actually working with a nutritionist right now because she's underweight and small for her age because she doesn't like anything especially high in calories. While diet may be her problem, it's certainly not from additives.

My son is more 'normal' and likes allll the junk and hates vegetables, but he goes to bed at 8, sleeps well, and wakes up at 7.
We just cannot win sometimes :)

Update: Just put peanut butter next to her cut apples and she wildly approves. This will really help with the calories!! Thanks so much for the suggestion! She's going to need a bath after this though. ;)

haha! :) peanut butter and apples is always Mom's thing. i like it ok, but i usually go for other things.

i like peanut butter on about anything, carrots and raisins a bit of cinnamon, celery. another calorie boost is cream cheese. also goes good with many vegetables. we make veggie pizza with crecent roll crust and cream cheese mixed with ranch dressing mix and then topped with various sliced veggies. almost everyone likes it. onions are the toughest sell. we love onions on and in almost everything but not everyone else does. if she doesn't like the ranch dressing mix in the cheese she may just like plain cream cheese. i can always find ways of adding more calories to about anything. a simple spice or pumkin cake can be cut in half and put a layer of cream cheese frosting (cream cheese, butter and powder sugar) in between and some other frosting on top if you want, but my sister makes punkin rolls so when she's made the thin cake layer and when it is still warm she rolls it up with the cream cheese frosting/filling and... yum... you can tell i've not had elevenses yet or even onesies.

i bet she may also like any kind of custard/punkin combination as that is a lot like squash so you can hide calories in that too. cream, sugar, eggs, spices, what's not to like? punkin pie without the crust IMO.

What confuses me is why on earth would I have these people that never so much as cross my mind anymore, why are they in my dreams. :hu weird.
Free-range thought. ;) In our sleep, the mind is unconstrained, and even the deepest memories are accessible.

Memory is a funny thing. When I was young, I had nearly photographic memory; I could read a textbook once, and remember everything. That sure changes as we get older! :old I think that cumulative memory has a way of over-writing the "mental chalkboard", to the point where I can pull out some of my old dusty sci-fi books & enjoy re-reading them. Maybe fodder for more creative dreams in the near future. :fl
