it isn't a normal part of my conversation. it is a bad habit. sometimes it slips out when i'm tired or mash my foot against a rock, but otherwise i try to keep it to my internal dialog and even then i've gladly gotten away from it.

I think most people can let ‘er rip when they hurt themselves. I do. I should be more like my Daddy. About the worst he ever said, and he had to be really mad, was dadburnit. He was such a happy guy, he hardly ever got mad or aggravated.

French toast with tea. It's raining, wind gusts above 20mph, 45°f (7°C). Heat is back on and is likely to stay on.

DS did some weed eating and some were as tall as me. I have never seen stuff grow like this here. I hurried to get all the planting done because rain in the forecast for 3 days and it has already started raining. LOL

I'm gonna be really antsy about not being in the garden today and tomorrow. 🤞 Wednesday is an okay day. The peas are growing and need a trellis, I'm sure. The tomatoes were already showing signs of beetle damage, brassicas too.

The next planting of sweet corn is started in the greenhouse and will need to be set out, soon.

And, then there are the weeds. I did have time for running the tiller last time, knowing that the weeds will be back with the rain. It's not entirely futile because, if I can hit that ground again, most weeds under ground for 2 weeks will die. Besides, garden plants need a greater soil depth than what I have for those last few beds. Meanwhile, the early crops are growing and some will be harvested with that ground becoming available!

And, here I sit. Not even wanting to drag the garbage can out to the curb in the rain and wind.

On my first cup of coffee. I’m buying a new car! A 2022 Hyundai Accent. All done over the phone and internet. There is NOTHING on the lots around here or in Houston. Many dealerships have pictures of cars that are either already sold or they aren’t even there yet. Some dealers have blank spots with coming soon and the description. Since I don’t want an expensive car, that really narrows it down. I want a small, cheap, car with good gas mileage. Buying diesel at 12 MPG pulling a trailer or 15 MPG in town or at the very best, 18 MPG on the highway, is killing me. I’m keeping my truck! I need it for pulling those trailers and the things I do. I need a car to scoot around and go to town in. Right now, I’m paying a new car note, in diesel fuel, but not driving one.

My daughter found this car in Victoria, 200 miles away. Ok, I’m leaving Monday to go to Corpus Christi to visit, I’ll stop on the way and see my NEW CAR! Coming back Thursday. The salesman will follow me home with a chase car to take him back.

Salesman and finance guy were laughing their heads off when they asked for my address. My new address is a private road that no longer exists. There were 2 houses on it and 1 is now gone. It’s in the community of Centralia. Of course they never heard of it. In Trinity county, never heard of that either. Nearest town, Groveton, huh? Where’s that? It’s in that county you never heard of! LOLAnd the farm is in Trinity county, but the physical address is in Kennard, which is in Houston county. Lost and confused yet? My right now address is Groveton, no I don’t live in town, I’m 10 miles out of Groveton and 10 miles to Apple Springs, don’t know where that is either, do ya’? Good thing there is GPS so the salesman and the driver taking him back can find their way out of Deep East Texas and get back to civilization.

Why does the salesman have to follow you home? Why can't you just drive your car home by yourself with no one following you? It seems to just cause a round trip for the salesman for no reason.

Steve, heat is back on? We just had a heat wave the last 3 days! It was 90* in Alameda and it was hot. We have a window AC in our bedroom which is where I usually hang out reading or watching tv so that room felt really nice. The next day it was 70 and it felt chilly. I had to wear my sweatshirt in the evening when I did a little gardening.

Now it's back to mid to high 70s.

Had waffles with coffee and now am sweating it out weeding. I'll take lots of water and sitting in the shade breaks.

@ninnymary , we have had eight ( 8 ) June days with temperatures above 70°f & one above 80°.

Yesterday's high was 70° but it is now after 10 AM and the temperature is only 46° after 45° at sunrise. What sun? Anyway, there are wind gusts above 30 mph.

I felt that I'd better rescue the garbage can after the truckdriver came by and dumped it. It was already skidding across the asphalt. ~ snicker ~ the truck arrived early and before the college kids nextdoor had their can out ...

I noticed some little holes in the green bean leaves. DD has a lot of holes in her green beans. I did not see any other damage. I did not look at the cabbage real close. It is 47 and sprinkling and more rain coming.

i get them here too, little flea beetles i think it is. eventually the beans outgrow them. it doesn't happen in every garden. i don't do anything about it.
