The indent at the eye is more pronounced that a lot of beans that are rather kidney shaped. What are the shape of the pods? Does that affect pod shape as far as straightnesss?

I received these beans from @Artorius so I'm not sure @Bluejay77. I grew some last year and they didn't produce any pods, which I think was the result of root damage from bean seed flies. They were one of the first bean transplants I planted out in the garden on my South facing wall and the weather turned bad afterward - cold and sopping wet. They didn't grow well for the rest of the season after that bad spell, as was the case with nearly that whole, early planted garden section. If I can find room for it, we'll see this summer if it might just be the variety in my location. I think this bean is somewhat famous for it's resemblance to cashews.

Just received the kindest email. A seed requester from the exchange contacted me in March for seeds, really lots of seeds. He was living in Ecuador at the time but had plans for a garden here this summer (where I believe he at least sometimes lives). I happily obliged and sent several extras along with the packages as a thank you given how much he requested. It helps build 'the ark' and all. Well, he just returned from overseas, bringing back seeds from the area including some beans and offered to send me some! Wow! I offered to pay for them, but he said no. I guess I'll be hunting the mail box for Ecuadorean beans in the coming week!

Yes! He sent me a list of all that he brought back that he'd share with me; it included beans, corn, a peanut and a type of squash called 'Zambo'. But I felt like I shouldn't accept them all since that would make me a 🐷🐖🐽 so I told him I'd accept one bean and chose 'Ecuadorean Cranberry'. On the inside, I was drooling over all the others, but decided to try and be graceful, lol. He had them mailed off before the day was over!

Last year I received several Mongeta del Ganxet ecotypes from Catalonia. The seeds of some of them were more curved, others less. The one shown by @heirloomgal is Mongeta del Ganxet d'en Serafi, the most similar to cashews. I grew the bush version, more like a kidney bean, and the pods were normal, a little bent at the end like a saber blade. I've seen on the internet that pole ecotypes have similar pods.

Just got back into the country 2 days ago and picked up my beans from Russ that I had stopped at the post office. Got them planted in pots yesterday due to incoming rain (for the next solid 4 or 5 days).
All caught up on LEBN messages. Now to hit and eliminate the emails. 😅
