One more hurdle jumped--physical went well. Dr. suggested all is clear for my knee operation, as long as the lab work looks ok, which I'm pretty sure it will, since the last lab work looked good.
That will be next Friday.

You will come home with one of those folding aluminum walkers. Leave it by the bed at night, if you have to get up, turn on the light and use the walker! Dont risk falling.

Before the surgery I went and bought one of those bigger walkers with wheels and a seat in it. I kept it parked on the back porch. Then I could get outside. .I sat on the seat and enjoyed being out doors.

The rollinator walker is a great way to go , light weight and folds up. I really dislike those fold up types they give out at hospitals. They are ackward and in fact get in the way with healing and walking. A little practice ahead of time with your new one will help with maneuvering later. ..because there’s so many new things to remember when walking after surgery . My rollinator has brakes on the handles . They are so much easier to walk with and help gain better balance and build muscle after surgery . And you can sit down if needed or use the seat as a tray to carry stuff. Also accessory’s available like a little fabric pack attachment available to velcro on the handlebars to carry other items. There are many different styles, heights and colors. Mine is fire engine red . My kids put lights on it and glued rhinestones on it to dress it up to add a little pizzaz . Was a big surprise when they came to pick me up after surgery.

The doctor recommended the aluminum folding kind because the rolling ones can roll away, in early stages right after surgery, causing falls. So I have both. I had the rolling one for outside, in grass and a rock driveway, not much chance of it rolling away. I used the other one in the house and made sure to park it by the bed, even after I didn’t use it much, for those midnight bathroom calls.

I powered through and gardened today. We are getting a frost next Tuesday night, so I pruned up my tomatoes so that they will focus only on the fruit. Where there were small tomatoes on a vine that has produced really big ones, I got them off, too--too little, too late.
I also watered my cherry tree for an hour this afternoon. It has sent out leaves for next year, but it's still wanting to live. I will prune them off in February and really give it a good haircut and pruning for size. I cannot reach the top branches now, even with a ladder.

Last week I stocked up on all purpose flour. WM had 5 pounds/~$5, so I bought 10 pounds, 25 pounds wasn't an option, as it had been in past years. I repackaged from the paper and labeled with the expiration date. The one container with 2 expiration dates lives upstairs in the cupboard with a lazy susan, hence the duplicate. It has one of those lids that uses suction. You squeeze the middle and it releases, then it reseals when you squeeze it again to replace the lid.
I have looked for more canning labels, but I found office labels are cheaper, so I am using those, instead.
My mother had bought me a plastic container for flour, but it failed to seal this summer and I was wondering Why I had pantry moths. I threw the flour and IT away. I am confident that the glass and plastic containers that I am now storing in will work better.
I have an additional glass container, the one with the green plastic lid. DH has given up tea, so I no longer need a container for decaf bags, which have been restored in the glass tea containers, one of which is peaking out behind the Lipton Sun Tea jar.
I recommend recycling sun tea jars, IF you don't use them anymore, for dry storage. Mine do not have spigots.

you take a jug of water, put a few tea bags in it and then put it in the sun to brew. it probably makes very little difference in the end to do that but it was a thing...
