i'd find a way to pile stuff on top and let all those rocks down there stay put. that's hard work!

it is a waste to not compost things, especially if you figure out how much you spent on them to begin with. digging a trench and burying is a good way to do things and i'll be doing some of that this year as i did have to do it also last summer after getting rid of my worm buckets. i now have two new worm buckets going but i don't know how well they're going to do or if they'll manage what i'm putting in there.
as for expense, the major expense is the first round as you have to fill them up, after that you just need to replace what settles or is lost.

A predicted 50⁰f (10⁰C) may happen this afternoon. Outdoors isn't likely to feel like that since there is so dang much wind.
It will be the first time that the thermometer has hit that mark since just before Christmas, during that rainy week. A very mild Winter and it has been easy getting around.
The Weather Service is saying that the southern US will have some record high temperatures over the next few days. Some remarkable contrasts across the continent.
I haven't changed the seed-starting schedule. Following the "normal" just seems to make the most sense.
