This is great info. everyone!
I was actually told that I need to leave my jalapenos on the plant until fall so they could mature. I've been questioning that ever since I heard it, but thought there might be something to it and then I saw the peppers turning red! That really confused me!

Thank you Ridgerunner! That is exactly what the bugs I have in the garden are! My boys went down yesterday and squished some, but didn't get all of them. I will go down there with a pail of soapy water here in a bit and start knocking the bugs off into the water. Hopefully I can rid my...
That makes sense! I've been on pins and needles thinking I was in for the borer worm again and then these things started to hatch. :/ I have two little boys (well, they are 13 and 11 so not really to little anymore!) that I am sending to the garden right now to squish them all! ;)
Thanks! :)

Here's...

I hate these things! :barnie I dealt with them last year and have been watching for the eggs on my zucchini plants, which I found this morning. Last year we hunted down the worms, dug them out of the stems, and then buried the stems again. Is this the only way to battle these unwelcome pests...
Thank you Pat for clarifying that!
After a lot of studying and talking to the old timer farmers around here that have "huge" corn stalks and gardens already, I am using blood meal. It is an organic source of nitrogen, so I'm not feeling like I'm adding commercial chemicals to my garden. I...
It is used to help aid with drainage when mixed in with soil. As far as I know, it is fine to use with organic gardening because it is just rock.
