Is there anything I can do with cucumbers, besides pickles? I have an abundance of them and we don't eat pickles (or use relish). Is there any way to save them? We're sick of salads!!!

I got a bit carried away with my cucumbers this year and have WAY more than I can use. Does anyone have any recipes that uses LOTS of cukes? These are a table variety, so I don't think pickling is an option.

I vote for zucchini as a confidence booster to newbies! You'll get loads! :) My vote is for tomatoes, sweet peppers and some type of leaf lettuce. Good luck and have fun!!!

I planted eggplant 4 days ago and the leaves are turning white. They are turning white from the vein in the middle of the leave outward. After they turn there looks like there are small holes developing. What is this? It's not affecting any of the other veggies (peas, sweet peppers, 2 varieties...

Okay, here are the pics (This is so embarrassing!). I spent the better part of the day pulling these blasted things up from around the plants. These pictures are the worst spots, but I definitely don't want to deal with this again. Now I need to figure out a suitable mulch. Any Ideas?

I was going through the Bakers Creek catalog and there are sooo many different varieties of so many veggies! Some of them I've never even heard of! Are there special ways of preparing these heirloom varieties or can I use them in any standard recipe for that vegetable type? I'd love to try some...

I've read on here that tomatos should be planted with the ground level just above where the first leaves have been removed. How tall should the plants be above the first leaves before I put them in the ground? Or does it just depend on the weather? Thanks!

Last year I used two stakes with twine strung 6" apart for my pea trellis. It worked "okay" but I'd like to try something a little more sturdy this year. What do you all use?

I have a tomato seedling that has sprouted. At the top where the leaves should be it looks like the seed is there instead. Anyone ever see this? Will the seed fall off and expose leaves? :idunno
