    Three Sisters Garden

Yes that's the pumpkin. I was a bit worried about my 3S garden. It seems to be a bit slow on the take off. But...... yesterday I was out watering. I decided to use a hose so I could surface spray the mounds. I saw squash sprouts.:ya. It actually looked like the same plant in 2 or 3...

    Come on cukes (RAH RAH)

Hoodat do you direct seed your cuc's? I have the worst luck getting my cuc's to take but once they do then their off. I have used field fence formed into an tube. About 1 1/2 ft across stacked double high for my cuc's for years. You just have to be sure to tie them up on a regular basis...

    Leftover Carrots

Not to sure about that. I grow lots of carrots in raised beds. They taste great. Maybe it's a soil thing. :hu I have also left carrots over winter accidentally, but they usually get hairy.:ep Gina

    grinders? what's your choice?

Yes I got lucky. But like I said I looked on CL for 2 years before I found mine. It is so heavy that when I went to pick it up the lady had kinda dropped it. :barnie. Lucky for me the cabinet had just separated bit. My hubby fixed it up no problem. G

    grinders? what's your choice?

Your going to find just as many opinions and options on this topic as well. Depends on how often you plan to use it I think. Is it going to be an every day thing? Or do you just want one on hand for the occasional grinding in case of say a power outage etc... There are a few types as well...

    Experimental quinoa planting.

Hi Hoodat!!! :frow I hope the Quinoa works out for you. If so I might have to give it a try up here in North County. Another thing that is giving the quinoa a boost in popularity is that it's Gluten Free. A nice alternative grain. gina

    pressure canner

I agree the All American is top of the line. I personally just bought a 30 q t for myself. I however started many years ago with the Presto canner. It is under 100 dollar's and works great. Pressure canner pots can always be used for water bath canning. I would start with water bath...

    Three Sisters Garden

Thanks BayMule, I managed some soaker hoses this week. I probably should have used black poly pipe with drips but I wanted something a bit easier. I have been thinking about the corn I am planning to plant. I went in my stock pile and found some kernels I saved, one labeled shoe peg...
