Baymule’s Farm

Went to my sister’s house yesterday. I carried small items out to the garage, took plants outside. I’m going back today to wrap and box glassware that is in cabinets in the entryway. Everything has to be cleared out. Her floors are ceramic tile, so a good sanitation after the construction crew leaves will suffice. Construction crew will cut out sheet rock 4’ up. Baseboards are pulling away from the walls, bottom of doors are swelling out, as are doorframes.

She had help on Sunday, her son and a friend worked all day. Insurance adjuster is coming this morning, contractor has already dropped a trailer to load the dead appliances after adjuster has left.

On my road, still have to drive through water in 3 places to get to the paved road. My road is on the list, there are roads far worse.

Oh no, the weather just showed heavy rain moving through your area again! I pray not as much as the last drenching.

I’m ok. It rained 2 1/2” Friday night and turned the sheep pens to sloppy mud again.. It rained again last night, but I don’t think it was much. Really need it to dry out around here! I still haven’t built a new door for the portable building, that fell off the hinges during our ice storm, just need a good weather week to get that done.

I’m picking up 40 meat chicks on Wednesday. So I’ve got to get ready for them. It’s 3 hours one way but if I had them shipped, they would come in on Saturday and I’ll be gone.

I have done that!

I’m going to Corpus Christi this weekend. It’s my middle granddaughter’s birthday. She was BJs favorite, he doted on her. She is quiet, artistic, the youngest is loud, hits the room like a sawed off shotgun blast. GD#2 was devastated when BJ died and she still has a hard time. A few weeks ago, she tearfully asked her mom, “What if Papaw forgets my birthday?”

I saved some of BJ’s shirts, intending to make quilts for the girls. Time to get busy, but not enough time to make a quilt. So I made a stuffed animal, just happens to be a lamb.

The pattern has 3 sizes, but if I cut out the small size, it destroys the other 2 sizes, so I traced it on butcher paper. I cut it out, using various shirts.



I got both sides sewed together



I finished it today. I found the heart at Hobby Lobby, thank you Valentines Day display. The body piece has pockets, one on each side. The green plaid was from a shirt DD picked out for him when she was in High School. He loved it. The blue piece on the neck belonged to my sister’s husband, she gave some shirts to BJ when her husband died. The lavender lining of the ears also was one of Uncle Bob’s shirt. So she gets a present from Uncle Bob and her Papaw. She is so worried that Papaw will forget her birthday, but he’s coming to the party.
