how awful! hopefully your girl is tucked in some corner & you'll find her tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck dealing with your neighbor and the dog. not a fun position to be in.
she died this year suddenly. she was about 25 ft tall, tough as nails, drought tolerant, and dependable. I think it was the rose rosette virus. i'll cut her to the ground this winter & just see if anything comes back in the spring.
I bought two nice big pumpkins at the grocery story for $5 each. that's pretty good. I figure there must have been a good crop somewhere for prices like that.
when they get past their prime, i'll feed the seeds to the goats and the chickens to help them with any internal parasites. a win...
i'm going to keep watch for a good deal on apples so I can make some pie filling. are the tart apples the better choice?
there are no apple trees in this part of Texas. too hot!
bay, it is so hard. it wears you out. dad came to live here because mom couldn't handle him anymore. I had a baby monitor so I could see & hear him through the night. I would get up every two hours to change him, and reposition him. then up all day doing day time things. it wore me out...
I've been reading the last couple of days about the artic sea ice has increased 60% this year from last year & some are saying we are headed into a cool down. hummmm?
wow, dew! y'all are getting right down to winter fast. i'm still waiting (eagerly) for us to drop into the 60s at night. next week we will drop into the upper 80s for a high. that will be a nice step in the right direction.
I think they get hotter as they turn black. I have some doing that as well. I don't know the variety - but it is definitely a jalapeno. they're pretty small. I like them a lot
that looks great stubbornhill! how many pigs can happily live in an area like that? if there were established trees in there - would they kill them by rooting?
I've never used hot wire really. are you always having to work on it? I really like just putting a round bale in there.
how long...
well said jared!
i'm a huge fan of chivalry. I love when people open doors for others, pick up something dropped, or carry something heavy. just being nice is a special thing and sometimes a rare thing.
