That is so sweet of your step-son! I have a step-daughter and she is the best :D She is sweet, smart and just an all around great kid. Now I just have to get her a job at an auction ;)
My mom surprised me today with an "eco-friendly" seedling tray :clap She said she saw it and thought immediately of me. Funny part, is that I saw the same thing at Menards and chose not to get it, cuz I was feeling cheap. Thanks mom :thumbsup
So, I was surfing around walmart.com and thought I'd look up gardening supplies. They had this coldframe on their website:

Thank goodness dh is good with his hands and can build me one for...
My tomatoes suffered terribly this year from blight :( My 12 tomato plants were reduced to 3 plants, and even those barely made it. Next year I am doing the following to reduce the chances:
*Starting plants from seed, reducing the exposure to blight from other sources
*Completely different...
I made this one http://www.motherearthnews.com/Real-Food/Roasted-Ratatouille-Recipe-EW.aspx a few weeks ago. Hmmmm, I'm picking up some items I don't have here from the Farmer's Market on Wed, cuz I want it again :drool
Today I went to pick up some additional tomatoes at a local farm near my house. I started talking tomatoes with the very nice woman and she warned me not to can or freeze blight ridden tomatoes. Now, I'm freaking out :barnie
I just made a large batch of canned salsa and frozen tomato sauce...
I would buy this!! http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/grd/1334450540.html
Isn't it gorgeous? My mind is racing thinking of different ways I could put this to use!
So I have been searching several months for a worm provider. I looked on the internet, but put the idea on hold, since I wasn't sure if I wanted to invest in almost $40 in a pound of worms!
Then, I was searching CraigsList one evening and came upon a local guy who sells: worms, compost...
I have read on here and several other sites that the key is mulching. To prevent the soil from splashing up on your plants...lesson learned :he Hope your luck continues :D
Tomato blight is pretty much taking out my entire garden :( I'm going to do things much differently next year...here is an article from our local news station:

Thanks for the tips! It is spreading...a lot! It has gotten substantially worse, since most of my tomato plants fell a few weeks ago due to rain and winds. Its so odd, since one side (the side that was laying on the ground) is completely covered... the other side is just fine. I'm definitely...
Yummmm...that does look good! Yes, I'm half-tempted to buy some eggplants @ the Farmers Market this weekend as well!
My eggplants take forever, plus a few of them are dying (due to fungus) so I don't know if I'm waiting for eggplants that will never be :hu
I have never tried this (although I plan on it) Its from the Ball Blue Book, but listed on this recipe site, so I don't have to type it all out

I have no advice for you...I gave up on peppers last year! I figured I would just buy them instead, they barely ever got any bigger than a 1/4 of what I can buy @ the Farmers Market!
I'd just leave them and see what you get...you never know :hu
