I currently have 4 zuchhini plants. They are all doing great, all have little zuchhinis on them. This morning though I woke up, checked on my garden (while I'm letting my chickens out) and notice that 2 of my plants have literally tipped over :hu
We did have storms last night. But the thing...
All this talk of bamboo, has me feelin' extra eco-friendly ;) I'm going to search for some tomorrow and hope to make an "A" frame type of structure.
I went out there this early evening and their "fingers" were starting to wrap around my sensitive eggplants...hmmm...I better get building...
Thanks for all of the responses :D I think I will thin it out in my salsa & maybe a little, I'll let go to seed...I'll just feed it to my chickens if it becomes too out of control, I didn't realize it was so invasive :hu...thanks again!
My cilantro is doing great in my herb garden, but I'm not sure if I need to thin it out like I do my basil? Or do I leave it full...This is my first year growing cilantro and I'm not sure if I'm doing things correctly. Thanks for any advice! :happy_flower
I planted my cucumbers near the fence line, in hopes that they would grow up it. Some of them are, but I want something else for the other-side that now houses other plants and they are starting to wrap around.
What do you use? A stick or something shaped like an "A"? I'm just not sure...
You lucky duck! I wish I had a few of those in my neighborhood...I do have a few hawks that hang around. Although, with the gigantor bunny population this year, I'm sure they are busy :bun
Last year, I put a leftover pumpkin out in the backyard for the birds to eat. They kinda did, but not really. I threw the remaning bits and seeds into the compost pile (not garden!) this year.
Yesterday, I noticed this plant in my compost pile, which resembled a zuchinni, cucumber???....No, a...
Grrrr...I'm so mad :somad
I thought I had my garden bunny-proof...well I did until my dog decided to dig a small hole under the fence. Of course they found their way in... :bun
This evening I went out doing my usual check of the garden and realized all of my beautiful, young bibb lettuce was...
I know! that is the whole reason I'm taking the class...I have this fear I'm going to kill my family as well :lau
I will definitely share any tips I may learn :)
I'm very excited! I have looked and looked for a canning class remotely around me, that was a reasonable price. I found one being offered about 35 minutes from me, it is 3 hours and best of all...only $10! Plus they give you a canning book :D
I recently have purchased a water-bath canner &...
From the various things I have read on this board & BYC, I have learned that bunny poo can be used directly in a garden. Chicken poo is much too high in nitrogen and must be composted first before adding to your garden. I too have a compost pile, but find that a compost pile needs much more...
I don't know what insect is doing it, but they are slowly eating my eggplant plants into big, fat NOTHINGS!
Mind you, I just planted the things last Saturday & they are slowly being munched away :somad I have sprayed them several times with insect stuff for gardens, but have yet to see the...
Thanks for the tip on this :thumbsup
My dh the other day, went to the bait shop & surprised me w/red worms!! I was so touched he thought about me :lau
...can't wait to get my bin started!
Wow...3 weeks?!?! What an efficient freezer :) Thanks for the tips, I'll have to do that soon, maybe it will help me sleep a little better at night
